Fieldnotes

It goes without saying that the notebook is essential out in the field. But, a year-and-a-half into reporting, I found that the camera helps me immensely too. The visual jottings that I make with it add so much to the notes I take: they help me observe the field more closely while reporting, and revisit minutiae post-facto, when writing.

These short photo-essays and vignettes here have all evolved from such notes.
